SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Rising Fireballs star Eugenio Chacarra will try to keep the winning momentum going at this week’s LIV Golf Chicago.

In his most recent start, Chacarra posted the second professional win of his young career last month at the Asian Tour’s St Andrews Bay Championship, part of the International Series supported by LIV Golf.

The 23-year-old Spaniard outlasted fellow LIV Golf member Matt Jones of Ripper GC in an epic 10-hole playoff. It’s his second victory in 21 professional starts, including 17 LIV Golf starts since turning pro last year.

“It was fun,” Chacarra said. “It came out my way, that's always good, but I think we both did a great job. It was fun to win again.”

Chacarra’s first pro win came last year at LIV Golf Bangkok in his fifth career pro start when he posted a then-record score of 19 under and led the Fireballs to their first team victory.

The Fireballs have one team win this season, at Tucson in the second tournament of the season when Carlos Ortiz was part of a four-man playoff.

Since then, the Fireballs have one podium finish – a second in Singapore when captain Sergio Garcia forced a playoff against eventual individual winner Talor Gooch.

The Fireballs currently sit in sixth place in the team standings with two regular-season events left. Seeding for the season-ending Team Championship in Miami in October will be determined next month in Jeddah.

Ortiz is the team’s top season-long performer, sitting in 13th in the standings, while Garcia is close behind in 17th.

But with Chacarra coming off his win and Abraham Ancer producing his best result of the season last month with a third-place podium finish in Bedminster, the Fireballs should have plenty of confidence going into Rich Harvest Farms.

A year ago in Chicago, Garcia tied for fourth and Ancer tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard while the team finished sixth in points.
